80 Absolute Ave

80 Absolute Ave is the address of the Absolute Vision Condominium, a highrise condo in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is one of five towers in the Absolute World condominium complex.

The building was completed in 2009 by GTA developers Fernbrook Cityzen. It has 372 units and is 35 storeys tall.

Municipal address is 80 Absolute Ave., Mississauga, ON L4Z 0A5. The nearest major intersection is Burnhamthorpe Rd. E and Hurontario St.

There are five towers which comprise the Absolute World development, as well as a few townhouses which line the perimeter of the complex.

Th five towers are as follows:

The two Absolute World towers that are nicknamed the “Marilyn Monroe” towers have garnered worldwide attention, but the three remaining towers, which are more of a conventional design, are excellent as well. 80 Absolute Ave. is one of these more conventional designs.

Pros and Cons

First, the good news. 80 Absolute Ave is relatively new, and it is located in the centre of all the attractions that comprise Mississauga City Centre. Transit options are already great, and the new Hurontario LRT (Hazel McCallion LRT), which is scheduled to open in 2025 or 2026, will have a stop a few minutes walk from the front door. The location is excellent.

Secondly, this is a very stylish building in a landmark complex. While the two “Marilyn Monroe” buildings are beautiful from the outside, their irregular shaped walls within the units themselves can be difficult to furnish.

Absolute Vision avoids this problem by having regular room sizes and shapes.

There are not really any huge disadvantages at Absolute Vision. As with any condo development built after 2000, apartment sizes are a bit smaller than those built in earlier decades. At least the balconies are a good size here.

The only complaint that I regularly hear is that the two gated entry points into and out of the complex, which serve all 5 towers, can sometimes be slow and congested.

Before we take a deep dive into the building itself, let’s take a look at the area.

Mississauga Attractions

Shopping

Square One Shopping Centre, Ontario’s largest mall, is located directly across the street from the condo.

Square One has more than 360 stores, restaurants, bars, and services, and is a 2 minute drive, and a 5 minute walk away, with the east entrance to the mall (Walmart SuperCentre) being nearest.

In addition to the Square One mall, there are additional commercial plazas nearby. The Sussex Centre features offices and significant retail, including restaurants and a cinema.

There is also another commercial plaza just couple of blocks to the east, along Burnhamthorpe Rd. E. Here you will find a supermarket, a Rexall drug store, a Canadian passport office, plus numerous additional stores and restaurants.

Entertainment

Apart from all the shopping possibilities, there is a lot of additional attractions in the Square One area.

Transit

The central Mississauga MiWay Transit and GO bus terminal is located in the City Centre at the north side of the Square One Shopping Centre. This is the central transit hub for the city of Mississauga.

Here you will find direct MiWay bus service to points across the city, as well as direct service to the Kipling subway station in Etobicoke.

Furthermore, GO Transit bus service extends from the terminal to downtown Toronto, and to many other points including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Hamilton, and even Scarborough.

As mentioned above, the transit terminal will soon add a major new addition when the Hazel McCallion LRT adds a stop there in late 2025 or early 2026. This will provide direct light rail service starting from Port Credit north to the centre of Brampton.

The LRT is replacing several bus routes that currently run north-south along Hurontario St., and it will have a stop at Burnhamthorpe Rd. The Burnhamthorpe Rd stop will be about a two minute walk from 80 Absolute Ave.

Going southwards, the LRT will continue to the Cooksville GO station. This connection provides additional connectivity to downtown Toronto via the GO Train.

Automobile commuters living at the Absolute Vision condo also have easy access to Ontario Highway 403Highway 401, and the QEW Highway. All three highways are close by, and are accessible via Hurontario St. Highway 403 is about a minute away via the Hurontario St. on ramp.

The University of Toronto Mississauga campus (UTM) has over 15,000 graduate and undergraduate students. It’s located in a wooded setting near Mississauga Road and The Collegeway, and is about a 14 minute drive from 80 Absolute Avenue.

The nearest hospital is the Mississauga Hospital. It is located at 100 Queensway W., near Hurontario and the QEW, which is about a 10 minute drive away.

The Mississauga Hospital (formerly known as Trillium Hospital) houses the largest concentration of critical care services in Canada, with modern facilities that are currently undergoing a major expansion.

Nearby Grocery Stores

There is a fairly large assortment of grocery stores in the immediate area, including a Food Basics Supermarket at 377 Burnhamthorpe Rd. Parks and Recreation

80 Absolute Ave. is blessed with close access to several city parks as well as a major community centre.

Kariya Parkwhich is a lovely Japanese themed park with a pond, wooden walkways, a temple-like structure with a bronze cast bell, and plenty of wildlife, is about a five minute walk away.

Zonta Meadows Park, which is on the north side of Burnhamthorpe Rd., is a 5 minute drive away. This excellent city park has winding walkways, and features children’s play areas, public tennis courts, and open fields which are great for soccer and other team sports.

Mississauga Valley Park is directly behind the complex. There is a scenic ravine that follows the Cooksville Creek, with plenty of waterfowl and wildlife to see. The ravine leads to an open area with baseball diamonds, a soccer field, bocce ball courts, beach volleyball courts, and splash pads for children.

Mississauga Valley Park is also the location of the Mississauga Valley Community Centre, which offers drop in and membership activities including swimming, fitness studios, a gym, a public library, an indoor ice skating rink, and classes for everything from yoga to Pilates to Zumba.

Even though the condo itself has a top tier recreation centre (see below), there are still a few activities like ice skating that can only be found at the community centre
