Port Credit Area Attractions

Port Credit Harbour

Here is where the Credit River drains into Lake Ontario, and there are extensive harbour and marina facilities. The harbour and marina are only a few short blocks from the Brightwater 2 condo.

Speaking of the harbour, in warmer months, you will find an impressive lineup of watercraft there, including many luxury yachts.

Transit

When it comes to public transit, 220 Missinnihe Way is one of the better connected condos in Mississauga.

Port Credit GO Station

Brightwater 2 Condominium has a complimentary shuttlebus that runs to and from the Port Credit GO Station during a.m. and p.m. peak times. The GO Station is a stop on the Lakeshore West Line, which runs regular heavy rail train service eastwards to Union Station in downtown Toronto, and westwards to Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton.

Travel time from the Port Credit GO Station to downtown Toronto is about 30 minutes.

Hurontario LRT

In addition to the east-west connectivity on the Lakeshore Line GO service, there will soon be a major addition for north-south transit.

The Hurontario LRT is currently under construction, and is expected to be operational by late 2025 or early 2026.

The Port Credit GO Station is the southern terminus for this new streetcar line, which will proceed northwards to Square One Shopping Centre, and then further north to Brampton. Enroute stops will include connections to the Milton GO service.

MiWay

Mississauga’s MiWay bus service serves the area with two routes along Lakeshore Rd. W., plus additional routes radiating from the Port Credit GO station transit hub.

Brightwater 2 Condos is well positioned for all of this transit connectivity, and should be ideal for commuters.

QEW

For commuters who like to drive, 220 Missinnihe Way is 5 minutes away from the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) highway via Mississauga Road.

Shopping

While there are no massive shopping malls in Port Credit, there is no shortage of retail. As mentioned above, there are several new commercial outlets lining the base of the condo, including a bank and a bakery. There is also a drugstore, a pet store, and an LCBO outlet right next door in an adjacent commercial building that is part of the Brightwater development.

The nearest major shopping mall is Square One Shopping Centre, which is about a 20 minute drive away.

Grocery Stores

There are several grocery stores in the immediate area, including the recently opened Farm Boy supermarket within Brightwater itself. There is also a Loblaws almost directly across the street in the Credit Landing Shopping centre at 250 Lakeshore Rd. W, plus a Rabba Fine Foods at 92 Lakeshore Rd. E. Also not too far away is Cousins Market at 1215 Hurontario Street.

There are multiple elementary schools serving the area, including:

The nearest hospital is the Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital. It is located at 100 Queensway W., near Hurontario and the QEW, which is about a 9 minute drive away.

The Mississauga Hospital (formerly known as Trillium Hospital) houses the largest concentration of critical care services in Canada, with modern facilities that are currently undergoing a major expansion.

Parks and Recreation

Brightwater 2 Condos are blessed with close access to some of the best parks in Mississauga. 

Port Credit Memorial Park is minutes away from the condo complex. It features walkways, a large pavilion, plaza space and open green areas. This is a popular location for many festivals and events. There are also picnic areas, a skate park and a playground.

The park is also attached to Port Credit Arena, which offers ice skating on a drop-in or membership basis in the cooler months.

J.C. Saddington Park, where you can enjoy a looped path system, picnic areas and a playground. This large green space was built on a former landfill. There are also heritage buildings and an informal amphitheatre.

Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens, which is a few blocks away along Lakeshore Road W., is a 2 minute drive, or a 13 minute walk away.

This beautiful city park becomes a riot of colour every spring, when the extensive rhododendron gardens bloom. It also has winding walkways that lead to a small beach, a forested area, and open green fields that are perfect for a picnic.
