One of the top rated public high schools in all of Mississauga is Port Credit Secondary School. PCSS is located in the south central area of the city known as Port Credit, and it offers classroom education for grades 9-12.
There are currently over 1300 students registered at this storied and historic facility.

Port Credit Secondary recently celebrated its 100th birthday, as it was originally founded in 1919. The current building dates from 1963, and today the school is rated one of the better public high schools in Ontario.
Specialized Courses
PCSS offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students.
Regional Learning Choices Program (RLCP)
Regional Learning Choices Programs (RLCP) empower students by providing an opportunity to develop and explore skills in their particular area of interest. RLCP programs begin in Grade 9.
Port Credit SS offers two enrichment programs through the RLCP:
- The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program , which is renowned for its robotics studies, provides hands-on learning with post secondary programs and industry partners. Students gain experience as they use advanced technology, interact with guest speakers, and participate in special excursions, competitions and clubs.
- The Peel Regional Strings program provides students with the opportunity to study a stringed instrument. Students are able to collaborate with other musicians, within an orchestral environment. Port Credit SS is one of only two high schools in Peel Region to offer this program (the other being Central Peel Secondary School in Brampton).
Dual Credit
Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time. College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school. Students are able to choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as: Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.
SHSM
Port Credit Secondary School also offers two Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs, one for Justice Community Safety & Emergency Services, and one for Manufacturing. The SHSM program is for students in grades 11 and 12.
OYAP
The school is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.
OYAP is a school to work program that offers students the ability to work in apprenticeship occupations starting in grades 11 or 12 through the Cooperative Education program. There are many benefits to becoming an OYAP student:
- earn credits toward your secondary school diploma
- accumulate hours and work toward trade competencies at a job placement
- receive trade-specific health and safety training
- move into work directly after graduation and continue the apprenticeship
- start a viable career on equal footing with college and university programs

Port Credit offers an assortment of modern and spacious classrooms and work spaces for students.
The school also features a 700 seat auditorium, numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, a recently renovated library, a large gymnasium, a fitness centre, a TV production studio, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
There is a large assortment of extra-curricular clubs at the school, including ones for film, drama, photography, environmental, digital media, and music.
