Condos in Mississauga’s Hurontario District
Hurontario is a neighbourhood in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada that is defined by the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB). It is located in the central part of the city, and is just to the north of the Square One City Centre area.

Hurontario has Highway 403 at its southern boundary, and it roughly follows Matheson Blvd at its northern edge. Highway 403 also marks its eastern boundary, and Mavis Road is to the west.
Sometimes people confuse the Hurontario area with the Square One City Centre area. Although both are in the centre of downtown Mississauga, the dividing line is the 403 highway. South of the highway is City Centre, and north of the highway is Hurontario.
There are commercial and industrial nodes within the Hurontario district, as well as substantial residential areas.
The residential areas consist of classic suburban streets with single family residences, plus many condominium townhouses and highrise buildings.
We will focus on the highrise condos that are to be found in the neighbourhood.
The highrise condos in Hurontario were built in two phases.
The original group were completed in the late 1980’s and 1990’s, and the second group were built during the 2000’s. Even today there are a substantial number of complexes that are currently under construction.
There are all types of highrise condos here, including several older ultra-luxury buildings (“The Mansion” and “Park Mansion”), as well as some buildings that are more in the budget range.
Benefits of Living in Hurontario
Hurontario has all the benefits of living in the centre of the city, but it also enjoys a slight buffer from all of the traffic and congestion that you might find in the City Centre.
It nevertheless has multiple shopping plazas and strip malls along Hurontario St. that include restaurants, coffee shops, offices, and stores.
For example, there is a major mall located on the southeast corner of Hurontario St. and Eglinton Ave. W. that includes a large supermarket named Oceans Fresh Food Market, multiple coffee shops and restaurants, a Toys ‘R’ Us, and many other retail establishments.
There is another major retail plaza at the northeast corner of Hurontario St. and Eglinton Ave. W., as well as one at Hurontario St. and Bristol Road.
If that’s not enough, Square One Shopping Centre, Ontario’s largest mall, is just a 5 minute drive south of here. The two north entrances to the mall (Walmart and Simons) are the closest.
Square One has more than 360 stores, restaurants, bars, and services.
Transit
The central Mississauga MiWay Transit and GO bus terminal is located at the north side of the Square One mall. This is the central transit hub for the city of Mississauga.
Here you will find direct MiWay bus service to points across the city, as well as direct service to the Kipling subway station in Etobicoke. Furthermore, GO Transit bus service extends from here to downtown Toronto, and to many other points including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Hamilton, and even Scarborough.
The transit terminal will soon add a major new enhancement when the Hurontario LRT (Hazel McCallion LRT) adds a stop there in 2026. This will provide direct light rail service from Port Credit to the City Centre, through Hurontario district, continuing northwards to the centre of Brampton.
The LRT is replacing the bus route that currently runs directly through the district, north-south along Hurontario St.
Going south, the LRT will continue onwards to the Cooksville GO station, a short distance beyond the transit terminal, that will provide additional connectivity to downtown Toronto.
Car commuters living in the Hurontario district also have easy access to both Ontario Highway 403, and Highway 401. Both highways are close by, and are easily accessible via Hurontario St.
Schools
There are several elementary schools serving the area, including Huntington Ridge Elementary School (PK-5) Fairwind Senior Public School (6-8), and St. Mathew Catholic Elementary School (PK-8).
In addition, there are also public and catholic high schools that include Hurontario in their catchment areas: Rick Hansen Secondary School and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School.
Nearby Grocery Stores

There are several major supermarkets in the area.
As mentioned above, there is a major grocery store named Oceans Fresh Food Market. Oceans is a vast Chinese-themed supermarket that also has a full selection of western goods. It’s extremely popular with locals and visitors alike.
A few minutes north on Hurontario St. you will find Highland Farms, which is another vast and popular supermarket that has discount prices.
There are several other groceries in the area, with lots to choose from.
