St. Francis Xavier – The Top Catholic High School in Mississauga

St. Francis Xavier Secondary School is the highest rated Catholic high school in Mississauga. It is located in the north central area of the city. Classroom instruction is offered for grades 9-12.

There are currently about 1860 students registered at this prominent facility. As with most Catholic high schools, students are required to wear uniforms while attending classes.

St. Francis Xavier (“FX”) was founded in 1990, and today is seen as one of the top separate schools in Peel Region. It is one of the largest high schools in Mississauga by enrollment, and is a member of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.

Specialized Courses

The school has a wide assortment of specialized academic courses for students. Enrichment programs are offered, such as three separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs: one for Hospitality & Tourism, one forTransportation, and one for Health and Wellness.

The school also participates in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.

FXSS is also a full member of the worldwide International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

French language instruction is available in Core French only. FX also offers a comprehensive English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) curriculum.

Finally, there is also a Licensed Daycare at the school. The Region of Peel provides an onsite early learning and childcare facility for infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
