2345 Confederation Pkwy Mississauga
This condominium is a relatively modest highrise tower located in the Cooksville area of Mississauga, Ontario.
Contents

The building was built and completed in 1974, and is one of the original condos in Mississauga.
2345 Confederation Pkwy consists of a single 13 storey tower with a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments. Apartment sizes in general are large, ranging in size from about 1100 to nearly 1400 square feet. There are only 4 units per floor, and some of the larger units have 2 balconies.
The location of 2345 Confederation Pkwy is actually quite prime. It is located about a block away from the Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital, and thus has proven to be a great place to live for many people who work there.
This condo is also within walking distance of the Cooksville GO Station. The Cooksville GO Station is a stop on the Milton rail line that provides commuters with direct service to Union Station in downtown Toronto.
Municipal address for this legacy Cooksville condo is 2345 Confederation Parkway, Mississauga, Ontario L5B 2H3.
The closest major intersection is Queensway and Hurontario St.
Although it is located in the Cooksville district, which is an area to the south of Mississauga City Centre (MCC), this condo is surrounded by plenty of retail and commercial options, and is just a few minutes away from all that MCC has to offer.
Pros and Cons
There are several features to note here. First, 2345 Confederation Pkwy benefits from the era when it was built. Condo apartments here are very large when compared to today’s more recent projects.
For example, most 2 bedroom units are between 1100 and 1300 square feet, which is quite a premium over today’s typical units. That’s a win.
Secondly, the previously mentioned proximity to the Trillium Hospital is a major plus, plus access to the QEW highway is only a couple of minutes away. The Cooksville GO Station is also relatively near, and there is extensive bus service in the neighbourhood. Overall, it’s a great location.
Third, every unit has a large balcony, and some have two. Every unit has two washrooms.
There are a couple of things that could be considered cons.
First, maintenance fees are a little on the high side although all utilities are included.
Second, this building was built with electric baseboard heating. There is no central air conditioning in the building, and cooling in the summer is provided by window air conditioners only.
Finally, there is no concierge service at 2345 Confederation Parkway.
Before we take a deep dive into the building itself, let’s take a look at the area.

Square One has more than 360 stores, restaurants, bars, and services.

Transit
2345 Confederation Parkway is well connected with heavy rail commuter options, and is about a seven minute drive, or a 20 minute walk to the Cooksville GO Station. This is a transportation hub for central Mississauga, linking both the city’s public transit system (“MiWay”), and GO Transit.
The Cooksville GO Station recently underwent a major expansion of its free parking facility.
The area is expected to get even greater access to transportation options in the next few years with the construction of the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) project, which will be called the Hazel McCallion (Hurontario) LRT, to commemorate the former Mississauga mayor.
LRT
The Hazel McCallion LRT is a streetcar line that will have 19 stops starting from Port Credit in the south, up through Cooksville, continuing up to Square One Shopping Centre, and then proceeding to the Brampton Gateway Terminal. There will be four stops in Cooksville, including one at Hurontario St. and Queensway, and one at the Cooksville GO Station.
While the Cooksville GO Station is a major transportation hub in its own right, the LRT will also provide further connectivity to the main transportation hub in the City of Mississauga, which is the central Mississauga MiWay Transit and GO bus terminal. This terminal is located at the north side of the Square One mall.
Here you will find direct MiWay bus service to points across the city, as well as direct express bus service to the Kipling subway station in Etobicoke.
Furthermore, GO Transit bus service extends from here to downtown Toronto, and to many other points including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Hamilton, and even Scarborough.
The overall area is very transit friendly, and you will also find frequent bus service along Dundas St. W. (MiWay Route #1), with direct service to the TTC Kipling Subway Station. Walking to the Dundas St. bus takes 13 minutes.
Residents at the 2345 Confederation Pkwy condo who commute by car will have easy access to both Ontario Highway 403, and the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) highway. Both highways are close by, and are easily accessible via Hurontario St.

Hospital
The nearest hospital is the Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital. It is located at 100 Queensway W., near Hurontario and the QEW, which is about a 5 minute walk away.

There are several supermarkets in the area.
You will find both a Food Basics and also a FreshCo nearby at the corner of King St. and Hurontario St. These are about a four minute drive from the condo.
There is also an interesting new middle eastern themed grocery named Alnejmah Fine Foods, which is close as well, located at the corner of Hillcrest Ave. and Hurontario St.
There are numerous other supermarkets in the area, including a Metro on Central Parkway East, a Loblaws Superstore at Mavis Rd. and Dundas St., and a Whole Foods Market located on the north side of the Square One mall.
Finally, there is a full grocery located in Walmart at Square One.
Parks and Recreation
Kariya Park Mississauga is located just north of the Cooksville area. It is a beautiful Japanese-themed park and garden, that feaures serene Japanese gardens, is often the setting for wedding pictures for newlywed couples.
The park has winding trails, ponds, wooden bridges, sculptures, a pagoda-style pavilion, and much more. It’s one of the top tourist attractions in Mississauga.
Brickyard Park is a sports-focused park with baseball and softball diamonds, and a soccer field. All the facilities here are fenced and feature night lighting. It’s very popular with amateur sports leagues.
In addition, there are several neighbourhood parks nearby, including Floradale Park, which is a 3 minute walk away, Parkerhill Park, which is a 10 minute walk from the condo, and Gordon Lummiss Park, which is a 6 minute walk away. All three have children’s playground areas, Floradale Park has a splash pad, and Gordon Lummiss Park has a soccer field, a skating rink, and free public tennis courts.
One thing to keep in mind: there are over 70 highrise condos in the city centre, as well as about 14 in the Cooksville area. Consequently, all Mississauga parks are extremely popular, and they are usually very busy during the warmer months.
