The Carlyle III Condominium is a highrise condo located at 155 Hillcrest Ave in the Cooksville area of Mississauga, Ontario.
Contents

The building was built and completed by Tridel Corporation in 1991, and is part of a four tower complex.
The location of the four towers is attractive. They are all located literally next door to the Cooksville GO Station.
The Cooksville GO Station is a stop on the Milton rail line that provides commuters with direct service to Union Station in downtown Toronto.
These are the four highrise condos in this complex on Hillcrest Avenue:
- 115 Hillcrest Ave – Carlyle II
- 135 Hillcrest Ave – Emerald Gate
- 145 Hillcrest Ave – Carlyle
- 155 Hillcrest Ave – Carlyle III
155 Hillcrest Ave. itself consists of a single 22 storey tower with a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments.
Municipal address for The Carlyle III Condominium is 155 Hillcrest Ave, Mississauga, Ontario L5B 3Z2.
The closest major intersection is Hillcrest Ave. and Confederation Pkwy.
Although it is located in the Cooksville district, which is an area slightly to the south of Mississauga City Centre (MCC), this condo is surrounded by plenty of retail and commercial options, and is just a couple of minutes away from all that MCC has to offer.
Pros and Cons
There are two features to note here. First, 155 Hillcrest Ave benefits from the era when it was built. Condo apartments here are quite large when compared to today’s more recent projects.
For example, most 2 bedroom units are between 900 and 1200 square feet, which is quite a premium over today’s typical units. That’s a win.
Secondly, the previously mentioned proximity to the Cooksville GO Station is a huge plus for many commuters.
On the other hand, 155 Hillcrest Avenue was built during the brief time in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s when the City of Mississauga outlawed balconies.
There are panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the building, but there are no balconies here.
One other thing to note: the Carlyle III condo has a strict no pets policy, so if you have a dog or a cat, this is not the building for you.
Before we take a deep dive into the building itself, let’s take a look at the area.
Mississauga Attractions
Shopping
The Carlyle III condo is in the heart of Cooksville, which provides an abundance of independent shops and services. You will find plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, pharmacies, offices, and stores.
In addition, Square One Shopping Centre, Ontario’s largest mall, is just a 6 minute drive away. The southeast entrance to the mall (Walmart) is the closest.
Square One has more than 360 stores, restaurants, bars, and services.
Entertainment
There is a great variety of entertainment venues once you cross over to the City Centre area. Here’s just a few places that anyone can enjoy.
- Mississauga Celebration Square with its vibrant slate of community events, fountains, and skating rink in winter
- Mississauga Living Arts Centre
- Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM)
- Mississauga Civic Centre (City Hall)
- Hazel McCallion Central Library
- the central YMCA
The closest cinemas are the Cineplex Cinemas at Rathburn Road and Living Arts Drive.
Transit
The condos on Hillcrest Avenue are well connected with heavy rail commuter options, and are about a five minute walk to the Cooksville GO Station. This is a transportation hub for central Mississauga, linking both the city’s public transit system (“MiWay”), and GO Transit.
The Cooksville GO Station recently underwent a major expansion of its parking facility.
The area is expected to get even greater access to transportation options in the next few years with the construction of the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) project, which will be called the Hazel McCallion (Hurontario) LRT, to commemorate the former Mississauga mayor.
The Hazel McCallion LRT is a streetcar line that will have 19 stops starting from Port Credit in the south, up through Cooksville, continuing up to Square One Shopping Centre, and then proceeding to the Brampton Gateway Terminal. There will be four stops in Cooksville, including one at the Cooksville GO Station.
While the Cooksville GO Station is a major transportation hub in its own right, the LRT will also provide further connectivity to the main transportation hub in the City of Mississauga, which is the central Mississauga MiWay Transit and GO bus terminal. This terminal is located at the north side of the Square One mall.
Here you will find direct MiWay bus service to points across the city, as well as direct express bus service to the Kipling subway station in Etobicoke.
Furthermore, GO Transit bus service extends from here to downtown Toronto, and to many other points including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Hamilton, and even Scarborough.
Residents at the Carlyle III condo who commute by car will have easy access to both Ontario Highway 403, and the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) highway. Both highways are close by, and are easily accessible via Hurontario St.
Schools
There are several elementary schools serving the area, including:
- Floradale Public School (PK-6) at 210 Paisley Blvd W, Mississauga
- Queen Elizabeth Senior Public School (7-8) at 60 S Service Rd, Mississauga
- Father Daniel Zanon Elementary School (PK-8) at 450 Hillcrest Ave, Mississauga
In addition, there are also public and catholic high schools nearby: TL Kennedy Secondary School and Father Michael Goetz Secondary School.
Post-secondary Education
Mississauga has several excellent post-secondary schools, including:
Sheridan College
Sheridan College has a large campus at Square One. Over 6700 students attend classes in over 100 classrooms and labs.
University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM)
The University of Toronto Mississauga campus (UTM) has over 15,000 graduate and undergraduate students. It’s located in a wooded setting near Mississauga Road and The Collegeway, and is about a 10 minute drive from 155 Hillcrest Ave.
Hospital
The nearest hospital is the Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital. It is located at 100 Queensway W., near Hurontario and the QEW, which is about a 5 minute drive away.
The Mississauga Hospital (formerly known as Trillium Hospital) houses the largest concentration of critical care services in Canada, with modern facilities that are currently undergoing a major expansion.
Nearby Grocery Stores
There are several supermarkets in the area.
You will find both a Food Basics and also a FreshCo nearby at the corner of King St. and Hurontario St. These are about a three minute drive from the condo. There is also an interesting new middle eastern themed grocery named Alnejmah Fine Foods, which is even closer, located at the corner of Hillcrest Ave. and Hurontario St.
There are numerous other supermarkets in the area, including a Metro on Central Parkway East, a Loblaws Superstore at Mavis Rd. and Dundas St., and a Whole Foods Market located on the north side of the Square One mall.
Finally, there is a full grocery located in Walmart at Square One.
Parks and Recreation
Kariya Park Mississauga is located just north of the Cooksville area. It is a beautiful Japanese-themed park and garden, that feaures serene Japanese gardens, is often the setting for wedding pictures for newlywed couples.
The park has winding trails, ponds, wooden bridges, sculptures, a pagoda-style pavilion, and much more. It’s one of the top tourist attractions in Mississauga.
Brickyard Park is a sports-focused park with baseball and softball diamonds, and a soccer field. All the facilities here are fenced and feature night lighting. It’s very popular with amateur sports leagues.
In addition, there are several neighbourhood parks nearby, including Sgt. David Yakichuk Park, which is a 3 minute walk away, and Fairview Park, which is a 7 minute walk from the condo. Both have children’s playground areas, and Fairview Park has both a soccer field and free public tennis courts.
One thing to keep in mind: there are over 70 highrise condos in the city centre, as well as about 14 in the Cooksville area. Consequently, all Mississauga parks are extremely popular, and they are usually very busy during the warmer months.
