John Fraser SS was founded in 1990, and today it is rated one of the top public high schools in Peel Region. Admission to this school is highly prized, and there is sometimes a waiting list for enrollment.
Enrollment at John Fraser Secondary School is capped at 1,700, and there have been times in recent years when the cap was reached. On those occasions, new students within the catchment area were redirected to either Streetsville Secondary School or Stephen Lewis Secondary School.

Advanced Placement
The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a university readiness, global program intended for highly motivated, academically-oriented students whose study of the Ontario curriculum is enriched as they prepare for senior level AP courses.

Co-operative Education
Co-operative Education Program allows students to earn credits by integrating their course curriculum with learning on-the-job at a work placement. The co-op program can apply towards career paths such as apprenticeship, college, university, or the workplace.
