The Woodlands School is a highly rated school situated in the Erindale area of central Mississauga, offering schooling for elementary students in grades 7-8, as well as for high school students in grades 9-12. There are currently approximately 1198 students registered at this well regarded facility.
The Woodlands School was founded in 1969, and it is considered one of the better public high schools in the Greater Toronto Area.
Specialized Courses
The school offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students. Woodlands accurately reflects the multicultural heritage of Mississauga, in that it plays host to many students from around the world, and it offers an extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum.
Two Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs are offered, one for Arts and Culture, and one for Health and Wellness.
Woodlands offers an Enhanced Learning Program for gifted students, which offers the opportunity for extended studies, leadership, and a pathway to the Advanced Placement exams for university.
There is also a Peer Assisted Learning (PALS) program that is available.
The Woodlands School also offers an Ontario Youth Apprentice Program (OYAP) for apprenticeship in various trades-related industries.

The Woodlands School was extensively renovated in 2016, and today offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.
The school also features numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, a large gymnasium, a fitness centre, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
