Streetsville Secondary School is a well regarded public high school situated in a historic area of northwest Mississauga. It offers schooling for grades 9-12.

There are currently approximately 950 students registered at this popular and respected facility, and out of that number, approximately 450 students are participating in the school’s French Immersion program.
Streetsville Secondary was originally founded in 1959, and has gradually expanded as the population of the town of Streetsville and surrounding area has grown.
Today the school is rated one of the better public high schools in Ontario.
Special Programs
SVSS offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students.
Dual Credit
The Dual Credit program provides grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time. College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school. Students are able to choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.
French Immersion
Streetsville SS is noted for its significant French Immersion program. In addition, a basic Core French curriculum is also offered.
OYAP
Although there are currently no Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs offered here, the school is a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.

Facilities
Despite being an older school, Streetsville Secondary offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.
The school also features numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, a library, two gymnasiums, a fitness centre, a photography studio complete with darkroom, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
There is a large assortment of extra-curricular clubs at the school, including ones for film, drama, art, photography, digital media, and music.

SVSS is renowned for its sports teams (Tigers), and offers a wide assortment of athletic opportunities for students, including:

For recreation, Streetsville Secondary School has two gymnasiums, and a full assortment of track and field facilities.
The school is located in the heart of Streetsville, and as a result, offers close access to shopping and dining options that are to be found along Queen St.
