220 Burnhamthorpe Rd W is the address for the CityGate II Condominium, which is a highrise residential condo in Mississauga, Ontario. This was the second tower in the Mississauga Square One area to be sold, built and registered by Toronto builder Davies-Smith Developments.

This east tower of the CityGate development was completed by Davies-Smith in 2006, and it followed the successful completion of  the initial west tower at 3939 Duke of York Blvd named CityGate I. City Gate II was eventually followed by a third tower named Solstice at 225 Webb Drive, and finally the fourth and final tower Onyx at 223 Webb Drive.

220 Burnhamthorpe Road West was designed by Roland Rom Colthoff of Quadrangle Architects, and when it first came on the market, it was honored with several industry awards for excellent design.

Citygate II Condominium continues with the distinctive angled shape of the first tower – with a very attractive green coloured cladding. It is situated on the north east corner of a city block that it shares with the other three Davies-Smith towers.

The massive Square One Shopping Centre, Ontario’s largest mall, lies immediately to the north, across Burnhamthorpe Rd.

This second CityGate condo consists of a single 35 storey high rise tower that is surrounded by a 5 storey podium that is connected with the first tower’s podium.

The Mississauga Hospital (formerly known as Trillium Hospital) houses the largest concentration of critical care services in Canada, with modern facilities that are currently undergoing a major expansion.

Parks and Recreation

The condos at 220 Burnhamthorpe Rd W. also features close access to several nearby city parks.

One of the best is Kariya Park, which was originally given to the City of Mississauga by the City of Kariya, Japan.

This excellent city park, with its tranquil Japanese gardens, pond, wooden bridges, and pagoda-style structure, is situated only a couple of minutes walk away. Kariya Park is extremely popular for wedding pictures, especially during Cherry Blossom time in the spirng.
