Meadowvale Secondary School was originally founded in 1981, and the facility has expanded over the past few years. Today the school has decent academic ratings from the Fraser Institute, and it offers a great assortment of academic and extracurricular courses.
This high school is noted for its special academic offerings, its music, drama, and arts programs, and for its sports teams.
Special Academic Programs
Business and Technology Program
Meadowvale SS is a participant in the Ontario Regional Learning Choices Programs (RLCP). Through the RLCP, the school offers a 4 year International Business and Technology Program (IBT) for students in grades 9-12. The IBT program offers advanced training in international business, business, and technology.
SHSM
The school also offers three separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs in Business, in Construction, and in Information & Communications Technology. SHSM is a series of advanced courses within specific industries, although this program is only available for students in grades 11 & 12.
French Language
Although Extended French and French Immersion are not offered at this school, students are able to attend Core French classes.
OYAP
Meadowvale SS is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades. Finally, the school in noted for its English as a Second Language (ESL) course offerings.

Although Meadowvale High School was founded over 40 years ago, it offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.

For recreation, Meadowvale Secondary School has two large gymnasiums, and a full assortment of track and field facilities. The school is located on the northwestern Meadowvale area of Mississauga, and is about a 4 minute drive, or a 12 minute walk to the Meadowvale Town Centre shopping mall.
It’s also about a 4 minute drive, or a 15 minute walk to the Meadowvale Community Centre.
The location provides close access to the 401 and 407 Highways, and Pearson International Airport is a relatively short distance away.
