Meadowvale Secondary School is a well established public high school located in the northwest corner of Mississauga. The school offers classroom education for grades 9-12. There are currently about 1070 students registered at this large facility.
Meadowvale Secondary was originally founded in 1981, and the facility has expanded over the past few years. Today the school has decent academic ratings from the Fraser Institute, and it offers a great assortment of academic and extracurricular courses. This high school is noted for its special academic offerings, its music, drama, and arts programs, and for its sports teams.
Meadowvale is a participant in the Ontario Regional Learning Choices Programs (RLCP). Through the RLCP, the school offers a 4 year International Business and Technology Program (IBT) for students in grades 9-12. The IBT program offers advanced training in international business, business, and technology.
The school also offers three separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs in Business, in Construction, and in Information & Communications Technology. SHSM is a series of advanced courses within specific industries, although this program is only available for students in grades 11 & 12.
Although Extended French and French Immersion are not offered at this school, students are able to attend Core French classes.
Meadowvale is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades. Finally, the school in noted for its English as a Second Language (ESL) course offerings.

Although Meadowvale high school was founded over 40 years ago, it offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students. Features include a spacious library, new science labs, as well as numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, two large gymnasiums, a weight room, a fitness center, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
