River Grove Community Centre Mississauga is one of the larger community centres in the city, at 67,000 square feet. It was officially opened in 1996, and was extensively redeveloped during 2013 – 2014.
Architects for the redevelopment were MJMA Architecture & Design of Toronto. Renovations included updates to the lobby and change rooms, a larger fitness centre, and new windows overlooking the forested area behind the aquatics centre.
The building is located next to a forested area that lines the banks of the Credit River. The closest major intersection is River Grove Ave. and Britannia Rd W.
Facilities
This facility serves both the Streetsville neighbourhood, as well as the surrounding area, and it includes an indoor aquatics centre, a fitness centre, and a gymnasium.
In addition, there are several multi-purpose rooms, including a large 200 seat auditorium, that are rentable for everything from company meetings to children’s birthday parties.
Outside the building, there are soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts, and a children’s playground.
