West Credit (WCSS) was founded in 1986. It is one of two vocational schools operated by the Peel District School Board, the other being Judith Nyman Secondary School in Brampton.

Regional Skilled Trades Program
The Regional Skilled Trades Program is a hands-on program in Ontario that prepares students to meet skilled trades labour force demands, while also providing experiential learning and career exploration opportunities.
Students in the Regional Skilled Trades program at West Credit SS can choose to specialize in a number of trades preparation courses, including:
- construction technology – including electrical, welding, home renovations, woodworking
- hospitality and tourism – including chef training, restaurant, baking
- personal services – including hairstyling, aesthetics, health care, green industries
- transportation technology – including auto service, auto body, small engines
West Credit also has a partnership with the Skills Council of Canada.
Co-operative Education Program
The Co-operative Education Program (co-op) allows students to earn credits by integrating course curriculum with learning at a work placement.
Students can participate through apprenticeship, college, community living, university, or in the workplace.
Co-op programs can be designed to include up to four credits per semester to a maximum of 12 co-op credits towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Students are monitored and supported in their learning by the placement supervisor and co-op teachers.
Dual Credit Program
Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time.
College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school.
Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.
SHSM
Once students reach Grade 11, they can participate in two different Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs: one for Construction, and one for Hospitality and Tourism.
French Language
There are no French language classes at this school.
ESL
There are no ESL (English as a Second Language) classes at this school.
OYAP
The school is a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

As a technical school, WCSS has a lot of specialized facilities. Here you will find woodworking, masonry, and home reno classrooms, an auto body and repair shop, a welding shop, as well as a cosmetology classroom, a culinary studio and bake shop, and a horticultural centre..
The school also features drama and art rooms, music areas, a library, a large gymnasium, a fitness centre with weight and cardio rooms, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.

For recreation, West Credit Secondary School has a large gymnasium, and a full assortment of track and field facilities.
Pickleball Courts
West Credit SS has a new outdoor facility that includes 4 dedicated pickleball courts, as well as several partial basketball courts. It was opened in 2021, and is a joint effort between the Peel District School Board and the City of Mississauga.
The courts are free for the public to use outside of regular school hours, and anytime during summer. There is plenty of free parking available in the school parking lot.
