Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School is the only Catholic high school in the Malton area of northeast Mississauga, offering schooling for grades 9-12. There are currently approximately 840 students registered at this medium sized, strategically located facility.

As with most Catholic high schools, students here are required to wear uniforms while attending classes.
Ascension of Our Lord CSS was founded in 1976, and it has gradually expanded enrollment, staff, and facilities over the years. Today the school offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students.
Specialized Academic Programs
Dual Credits
The Dual Credits program provides grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time. Credits earned count towards a students’ Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), and towards a postsecondary certificate, diploma, degree, or a Certificate of Apprenticeship.
SHSM
Ascension participates in the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program, with a focus on Business.
French Language
Although only Core French is offered at this school, Extended French instruction is available at nearby St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Brampton.
ESL
Ascension CSS provides extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs led by teachers with substantial experience working with students in ESL.
OYAP
The school also offers the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), where students can learn skilled trades through an apprenticeship system.

Facilities
For a school built nearly 50 years ago, this facility offers modern architecture that provides students with a good assortment of classrooms and work spaces.
ASCEN also features rooms for drama and art, various spaces for its music department, a single gymnasium, a fitness centre, science labs, a chapel, and computer study areas.
Ascension CSS has long had a reputation of not having any real facilities for track and field, but all that is about to change.
Coming Soon: New Track and Field
Ascension will be getting a new state-of-the-art running track and soccer field facility. It was originally scheduled to open in 2024, but finally started construction in 2025. This new addition will feature an artificial turf field and a synthetic four-lane track.

It will be located in Anaka Park, which is directly behind the school.
The facility, which will be used by the school and school board during school hours and will be open to use by the general public on evenings, weekends and holidays.
The new addition is being built by the City of Mississauga in partnership with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
