Oakville is a suburban town in Ontario, Canada. Located in Halton Region, on the northern shore of Lake Ontario, it is part of the Greater Toronto Area.
While as large as a medium-sized city, Oakville is still legally a town.
Oakville borders with Mississauga to the east, Milton to the north, Burlington the west, and Lake Ontario to the south.
As of the 2024 census the population was 233,700.
