The Californian Condominium is a highrise condo located at 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle in the Hurontario area of Mississauga, Ontario.
Contents

Built and completed in 1989, The Californian condo was originally launched as a reasonably priced boutique building, and it has maintained that reputation throughout the past thirty years.
The Californian fronts onto Kingsbridge Garden Circle, just a few blocks north of the vast shopping attractions of Square One.
It consists of a single 17 storey tower with a mix of one and two bedroom apartments.
There are actually five highrise condos at this part of Kingsbridge Garden Circle. Four are nestled in a treed cul-de-sac on the north side of the street. There is also the subject of this article, The Californian, which is located on the south side of the street:
- 25 Kingsbridge Garden Circle – Skymark West II
- 35 Kingsbridge Garden Circle – Skymark West
- 45 Kingsbridge Garden Circle – The Park Mansion
- 55 Kingsbridge Garden Circle – The Mansion
- 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle – The Californian (south side)
Municipal address for The Californian condominium is 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle, Mississauga, Ontario L5R 1Y2.
The closest main intersection is the corner of Hurontario St. and Eglinton Ave. W.
Although it is located in the Hurontario district, which is an area slightly to the north of Mississauga City Centre (MCC), it is surrounded by plenty of retail and commercial options, and is just minutes away from all that MCC has to offer.
Pros and Cons
First, the good news. 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle benefits from the era when it was built. Condo apartments here are very large when compared to today’s more recent projects.
For example, most 2 bedroom units are between 1000 and 1200 square feet, which is quite a premium over today’s typical units. That’s a win.
On the flip side, 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle was built during the brief time in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s when the City of Mississauga outlawed balconies.
There are panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the building, but there are no balconies here.
Before we take a deep dive into the building itself, let’s take a look at the area.
Mississauga Attractions
Shopping
The Californian condo is adjacent to a shopping plaza that includes restaurants, coffee shops, offices, and stores.
In addition, there is a major mall that is directly across Hurontario St., which includes a large supermarket named Oceans Fresh Food Market, multiple coffee shops and restaurants, a Toys ‘R’ Us, and many other retail establishments.
Finally, Square One Shopping Centre, Ontario’s largest mall, is just a 5 minute drive away. The two north entrances to the mall (Walmart and Simons) are the closest.
Square One has more than 360 stores, restaurants, bars, and services.
Entertainment
In addition to all the shopping possibilities, once you cross over to the City Centre area, there are a lot of attractions here at the heart of the Mississauga City Centre for anyone to enjoy.
- Celebration Square Mississauga with its vibrant slate of community events, fountains, and skating rink in winter
- Living Arts Centre Mississauga
- Mississauga Art Gallery
- Mississauga City Hall
- Mississauga Central Library
- the central YMCA
The closest cinemas are the Cineplex Cinemas at Rathburn Road and Living Arts Drive.
Transit
The central Mississauga MiWay Transit and GO bus terminal is located at the north side of the Square One mall. This is the central transit hub for the city of Mississauga.
Here you will find direct MiWay bus service to points across the city, as well as direct service to the Kipling subway station in Etobicoke.
Furthermore, GO Transit bus service extends from here to downtown Toronto, and to many other points including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Hamilton, and even Scarborough.
The transit terminal will soon add a major new enhancement when the Hurontario LRT (Hazel McCallion LRT) adds a stop there in 2026. This will provide direct light rail service from Port Credit north to the centre of Brampton.
The LRT is replacing a bus route that currently runs north-south along Hurontario St., and it will have a stop just a minute or so from 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle.
In addition, the LRT will continue on to the Cooksville GO station, a short distance beyond the transit terminal, which will provide additional connectivity to downtown Toronto.
Commuters living at the Californian condo also have easy access to both Ontario Highway 403, and Highway 401. Both highways are close by, and are easily accessible via Hurontario St.

Nearby Grocery Stores
There is an abundance of supermarkets in the area.
As mentioned above, there is a major grocery store named Oceans Fresh Food Market, which is right across Hurontario St. Oceans is a vast Chinese-themed supermarket that also has a full selection of western goods. It’s extremely popular with locals and visitors alike.

Also close by are Food Basics and Metro supermarkets, plus the full grocery located in Walmart at Square One.
Parks and Recreation
Despite being just minutes away from the bustling city centre of Mississauga, residents and their guests at 50 Kingsbridge Garden Circle are lucky to have close access to Kariya Park, a beautiful Japanese-themed park and garden, that was originally a gift to the city of Mississauga from the city of Kariya, Japan.
This excellent city park, with its serene Japanese gardens, is often the setting for wedding pictures for newlywed couples.
The park has winding trails, ponds, wooden bridges, sculptures, a pagoda-style pavilion, and much more.
There are several neighbourhood parks nearby, including Kingsbridge Common Park, which is a 3 minute walk away, and Heritage Hills Park, which is an 11 minute walk from the condo. Both have soccer fields and baseball diamonds.
