Pinnacle International is one of the largest real estate companies in Canada. They specialize in luxury condominiums, master-planned communities, hotels and commercial developments.

Pinnacle is based in Vancouver, B.C., although they also have extensive development projects here in the Greater Toronto Area, with a strong showing in Mississauga.
The company also has completed projects in San Diego, CA.
Pinnacle has been involved in the development, design, construction and management of their projects for over 40 years.
At the time of writing, Pinnacle International has completed over 15,000 residences in Vancouver, Toronto, Mississauga, and San Diego.
The company has major developments in the pipeline for an additional 15,000 residential units located in various master-planned, mixed-use locations throughout North America.
Family Legacy
Pinnacle International is one of several real estate development companies that came from a common root. The De Cotiis family immigrated from Italy to Canada in 1959. The family, which was comprised of a father and a mother, 3 daughters and 5 sons, settled in Vancouver, B.C.
The children of the De Cotiis family became active in construction, and then later in real estate development. One son, Amalio De Cotiis, eventually founded a company which is known today as Amacon.
Another son, Inno De Cotiis, found another company which grew into a major multinational enterprise called The Onni Group. That corporation is also a major player in the real estate industry across North America.
Michael De Cotiis is the youngest of the 5 brothers. He founded his own company in 1983, which grew exponentially, and today is known as Pinnacle International.
You can see how influential the De Cotiis family has been in the real estate sector, not only in Canada, but also in the United States. Three major real estate companies coming from a single family is impressive indeed.
Pinnacle in Toronto
Pinnacle started their business operations in Vancouver, and built a large number of mid and highrise condos there. Eventually they expanded to the Greater Toronto Area, and today they have multiple projects completed, under construction, or planned for the GTA.
Downtown Toronto
In Toronto, Pinnacle’s completed projects include Bellagio on Bloor, and the Pinnacle Centre, a 2,000 unit, 4-tower waterfront community located at Bay, Yonge and Harbour Street.
In addition to these, the company has also completed Pinnacle on Adelaide and The PJ Condo. These are both very popular highrise buildings, and are located in the Entertainment District in downtown Toronto.
But their biggest project is now underway, and it is one that will dwarf the earlier towers.
The much-anticipated Pinnacle One Yonge is a three tower project located at the foot of Yonge Street.
It is a 4.4 million square feet master planned community that includes extensive residential, office, retail, restaurants and hotel components and is tied in with the PATH network.
The inaugural tower, the 65 storey Prestige Tower, was completed and registered in 2022.
The next phase, the prestigious 105-storey SkyTower, is currently under construction, and when completed, will be Canada’s tallest building at 344.9 metres, or 1131 feet.
Etobicoke
Pinnacle International has another major development planned for Etobicoke, with a new master-planned community underway along Dundas Street West. Pinnacle Etobicoke will include extensive retail, a one-acre park and nine condominium towers.
Cypress is the first residential tower to be built and registered in this development. Cypress is a 25 storey highrise building near the corner of Dundas St. W. and Shaver Ave.
Scarborough
Pinnacle Toronto East, currently under construction, is the latest addition to Pinnacle’s portfolio of master planned communities in Toronto.
This multi-phase mixed use community is located near Warden Ave. and Sheppard Ave E. It will feature larger suites designed for families, and will offer a wide array of amenities for residents.
Pinnacle in Mississauga
The company has also been very active in Mississauga. Their first projects here were Pinnacle Grand Park 1 at 3985 Grand Park Drive, and Pinnacle Grand Park 2 at 3975 Grand Park Drive.
Pinnacle then set their sights on a neighbourhood near the intersection of Hurontario St. and Eglinton Ave.
This is the site of Pinnacle Uptown, a 37-acre master-planned community, which will eventually include 10 residential towers, 100 townhomes and a 15 acre public park.
Three twin-tower highrise condominiums have already been completed. They are known as:
Crystal, with a 25 storey tower at 55 Eglinton Ave. West, and a 28 storey tower at 75 Eglinton Ave. West.
Amber, with a 26 storey tower at 5025 Four Springs Avenue, and a 23 storey tower at 5033 Four Springs Avenue.
Perla Towers, with a 35 storey tower at 35 Watergarden Drive, and a 15 storey tower at 65 Watergarden Drive.
There is also a significant group of condominium townhouses built and occupied called the Marquee Townhomes.
A seventh highrise tower called Gemma Tower is currently under construction.
Vancouver Hotels
While Pinnacle International has focused primarily on residential highrise developments in the Toronto area, they are also known for retail, commercial, and industrial properties in their home base of Vancouver.
Pinnacle International built and manage four hotels in the Vancouver area. The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel and the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront are two examples of their hotel properties.
Pinnacle Hotel at The Pier, accompanied by Pier 7 Restaurant and Bar, is a great addition to the Pier master planned community.
And finally, the Pinnacle Hotel in Whistler Village is a very popular spot for the ski crowd.
Conclusion
Pinnacle International are creating an impressive legacy in the Greater Toronto Area. Their downtown Toronto projects are next-level, and in Mississauga, they have added lots of urbanity to the real estate scene.
Pinnacle Uptown is having a major impact on the Hurontario and Eglinton neighbourhood, and there is definitely more to come.
