Ice Surface

Meadowvale 4 Rinks has four 185 by 85 foot ice rinks plus 22 dressing rooms and a rentable meeting room. It has a reputation for excellent ice surfaces, although spectator seating is extremely limited. There are a few bleachers surrounding rinks 1 and 2, but almost no seating at all at rinks 3 and 4.
The arena provides a venue for ice skating, including family fun skating events, as well as hockey and figure skating, suitable for all ages, and for all skill levels.
The ice arena is home to the Meadowvale Hawks Hockey Team of the Mississauga Hockey League, as well as several other sports organizations, including the Meadowvale Minor Hockey Association, the Streetsville Meadowvale Skating Club, and the Streetsville Meadowvale Figure Skating Club.
The rinks are open year round.

There are two types of access that you can purchase to engage in the various activities: drop-in and membership.
Drop-in
Drop-in activities allow you to “drop-in”, without an actual membership, and enjoy certain activities for a nominal fee, usually between $5 and $10 per session. For example, you can drop in for a fun skate, or a family skate event, and pay as you go.
Membership Plans
The city also offers a series of membership plans that give you access to the entire group of ice arenas, indoor and outdoor pools, gymnasiums, and fitness centres that are available under the community centre umbrella. Some of the plans are all-inclusive, and some are only for specific activities, i.e. swimming.
There are discounts for youth and for older adults, and memberships can be for 1 month, 3 months, or 12 months.

Johnny Bower Dedication

Meadowvale 4 Rinks has a special connection with the late, great Johnny Bower (1924 – 2017).
Bower was a goaltender in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was one of Mississauga’s great sport philanthropists.
He spent 12 years in the American Hockey League (AHL) before embarking on a 12-year career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1958. During his time with the Leafs he won two Vezina Trophies as the top goaltender in the NHL. He was a member of Toronto’s four Stanley Cup championships in the 1960’s.
Bower remained with the Maple Leafs as a coach and scout until 1990 when he accepted the role of Goodwill Ambassador. He was often seen in local arenas helping young hockey players improve their skills and providing words of encouragement.
Johnny Bower was involved with children’s charities and those that focused on community development, health promotion and animal protection. Locally, he focused on the Children’s Safety Village, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Arthritis Society and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
He was also involved with the Anishinabek Nation 7th Generation Charity and was named Honourary Grand Chief in 2010. Later that year, the Government of Ontario recognized him with an Ontario Senior Achievement Award for his community service, including a role as the only Honorary Chief of Police in the history of Peel Region.
Johnny Bower is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, AHL Hall of Fame, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, Mississauga’s Legends Row and has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Bower lived near Meadowvale 4 Rinks, and was often seen there. Rink 1 at the arena was dedicated to Johnny Bower in 2018.
