Meadowvale Community Centre Mississauga is one of the larger community centres in the city, at 87,300 square feet. It was officially opened in 1982, and was extensively redeveloped over a two year period from 2014 – 2016.
Architects for the redevelopment were Perkins & Will of Toronto. The colourful design won numerous awards, and the building is designated LEED Silver for sustainability.
The recreation centre is located within the boundaries of Lake Aquitaine Park, which is a popular city park with a long and notable list of attractions.
Facilities
This facility serves both the Meadowvale neighbourhood, as well as the surrounding area, and it includes an indoor aquatics centre, a fitness centre, a gymnasium, plus a public library.

The Meadowvale Fitness Centre features personal training, cardio and conditioning equipment, an aerobic studio for group exercise classes, and three racquetball and squash courts. There is an indoor walking track that circles the fitness centre.

The therapeutic pool has a depth of 0.90 to 1.8 metres, and features a hydro bench and accessible ramp. The 33°C water is ideal for people in post-rehabilitation or who are looking for a gentle exercise program.

Library

The community centre is also the site of the Meadowvale Library. This branch library was founded in 1980, and is part of the Mississauga Library System. Library hours are different from the main sports complex, and if you are planning a visit, it’s best to check ahead.
