Mississauga Valley Community Centre (MVCC) is the largest community centre in the city. It was officially opened in 1977, and was extensively renovated in 2004.
The centre is located within the boundaries of Mississauga Valley Park, which is a popular city park with a long and notable list of attractions.
Facilities
This facility serves both the Mississauga Valley neighbourhood, as well as the downtown Mississauga City Centre (MCC) area, and includes an indoor aquatics centre, a fitness centre, a public library, as well as a gymnasium that is in a separate building on the same site.
In addition, multi-purpose rooms are rentable for everything from company meetings to children’s birthday parties.
Arena
The Mississauga Valley Arena has a 180 by 80 foot ice rink featuring with six dressing rooms and seating for up to 375 spectators.
It provides a venue for ice skating, including family fun skating events, as well as hockey, figure skating, and even ice dance/cardio skating. Lessons are available for all ages, and for all skill levels.
The ice arena is home to the Heartland Dragons Minor Hockey Association.
The rink is open seasonally from late September to mid-March.
Fitness Centre
The Terry Fox Fitness Centre features personal training, cardio and conditioning equipment, an aerobic studio for group exercise classes, and two squash courts.
Gymnasium
The gymnasium at Mississauga Valley Community Centre offers a variety of activities including basketball, volleyball, badminton, and indoor soccer. It is located in a separate building a few feet away from the main complex.
Indoor Pool
The Terry Fox Swimming Pool and Therapy Pool is a 25 metre, 6 lane rectangular pool with a therapeutic tank beside the main pool.
The shallow warm water in the therapy pool is ideal for people in post-rehabilitation or who wish to include a gentle exercise program in their lifestyle.
Library
The community centre is also the site of the Mississauga Valley Library. This branch library was founded in 1980, and is part of the Mississauga Library System. Library hours are different from the main sports complex, and if you are planning a visit, it’s best to check ahead.
Montessori School
The Brilliant Minds Montessori Centre is located onsite at the community centre. It provides pre-school education for children aged 18 months to 4 years.

Drop-in

Membership Plans

Park and Nearby Amenities
As mentioned above, Mississauga Valley Community Centre is located within the Mississauga Valley Park. The park itself has football and soccer fields with night lighting, a baseball diamond with night lighting, bocce ball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, BBQ areas, a children’s playground with splash pad, and extensive forested walkways along the Cooksville Creek.
How Do I Get to Mississauga Valley Community Centre?
MVCC is in the Mississauga Valley area of Mississauga. It’s about a 5 minute drive, or a 20 minute walk from Square One Shopping Centre.
For longer distance commuters, highway 403 is nearby, as is the QEW highway.
Parking
Mississauga Valley CC offers ample free surface parking for visitors attending various activities. There is also plenty of additional parking along Mississauga Valley Blvd.
Public Transportation
MVCC is easily accessible by public transportation and is serviced by multiple Mississauga MiWay bus routes. There are express buses that run from the Toronto Kipling Station.
Nearest heavy rail commuter train station is the Cooksville GO Station.
Conclusion
Mississauga Valley Community Centre is a classic legacy community hub. While it traces its roots back nearly 50 years, it has been renovated and carefully maintained, so that today the facilities are topnotch.
