Mississauga community centres offer a wide range of activities for individuals and families to enjoy.
Here you will find everything from swimming pools to gymnasiums, ice skating rinks, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, squash and racquetball courts, soccer and football fields, fitness and weight rooms, and playground areas for children.
There are dozens of workshops, courses and programs available, from learn-to-swim classes to ballet and yoga.

Governance
The City of Mississauga maintains a large number of indoor community centres and recreation facilities. Through these spaces, the city delivers a wide variety of community programs to residents, while also providing opportunities for other organizations, agencies and volunteer groups to operate their own community-based programs.
This network of indoor recreational centres is a key part of Mississauga’s overall identity and collectively functions as hubs and destinations of activity.
There are currently 12 community centres in the city, as well as 13 arenas, 12 indoor pools, and 7 outdoor pools. These facilities see over 12 million visits annually, with thousands of hours of registered programs, in addition to drop-in activities.
Partnerships
Community centres in Mississauga have created partnerships with The Mississauga Library System, the Peel District School Board, and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. It’s not unusual to see a community centre with an attached public library, or an attached school that shares the facility.
Fees
The community centres in Mississauga offer access to various activities for a fee. There are two ways to purchase access to the various activities: drop-in and membership.
Drop-in
Drop-in activities allow you to “drop-in”, without an actual membership, and enjoy certain activities for a nominal fee, usually under $10. For example, you can drop in for a leisure skate, or a leisure swim, and pay as you go.
Membership Plans
The community centres in Mississsauga also offer a variety of membership plans. Some are all-inclusive, and some are only for specific activities, i.e. swimming. There are discounts for youth and for older adults, and memberships can be for 1 month, 3 months, or 12 months.

How much does a membership cost?
As mentioned above, people interested in the All-in plan can join for different time lengths: 1 month, 3 months, or 12 months.
There are discounted rates for youths (10-17 years), full-time students, older adults (55+), and persons with a disability.

Burnhamthorpe Community Centre
The Burnhamthorpe Community Centre is located in the Applewood Heights area of east Mississauga. It is one of the original community hubs in the city, and was recently extensively renovated.
Today you will find a new aquatic centre with a 25 metre six-lane swimming pool, plus a warm water therapy pool.
There is also a double gymnasium, a large fitness facility, several auditoriums, a youth room, a banquet hall, multi-purpose meeting rooms, and the Chic Murray Arena ice rink.
Carmen Corbasson Community Centre
Carmen Corbasson Community Centre re-opened in the spring of 2025, after a three year renovation and expansion. It features two swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, an active living studio, gym, meeting rooms, and two ice hockey rinks.
Churchill Meadows Community Centre
The Churchill Meadows Community Centre and Sports Park is located in the extreme northwest corner of Mississauga. It opened in 2021 and features two components: the community centre itself, and the Mattamy Sports Park.
Amenities include a 25-metre, six-lane pool and therapy pool, a triple gymnasium, 2 lit artificial turf soccer fields, one with a seasonal dome, a children’s playground with spray pad, a skate park, outdoor fitness equipment and walking trails
Mattamy Sports Park
Clarkson Community Centre
The Clarkson Community Centre features the Clarkson Branch Library, the Clarkson Arena ice rink, a full size gymnasium, an outdoor children’s water play area and a variety of multipurpose rooms. Clarkson offers an array of programs for all age groups.
Courtneypark Active Living Centre
The Courtneypark Active Living Centre is attached to Courtneypark Library and features multipurpose program rooms and gymnasium space.
Erin Meadows Community Centre
Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library was Mississauga’s first shared-use facility. This unique partnership between the City, the Mississauga Library System, and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is the first to share space to reduce capital costs.
Erin Mills Twin Arena
Erin Mills Twin Arena hosts a variety of programs including learn to skate, public skating and more. The arena has two 80 by 180 foot ice surfaces, change rooms, referee rooms, and a multipurpose room that accommodates up to 75 people.
Frank McKechnie Community Centre
Frank McKechnie Community Centre is located in the Hurontario area of Mississauga. It features a 25 metre swimming pool, a gymnasium, conference rooms and banquet hall, outdoor tennis courts with provision for pickleball, and a branch of the Mississauga Library System.
Huron Park Recreation Centre
The Huron Park Recreation Centre is located in the Erindale neighbourhood of Mississauga. It provides a fitness/boxing studio, a gymnasium for basketball, volleyball and badminton, an ice arena, outdoor beach volleyball courts and a therapy pool.
Iceland Arena
Iceland Arena forms part of the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. It provides a four-pad ice complex with an Olympic-sized ice surface along with three recreational-sized ice rinks.
The parkland surrounding Iceland includes a skateboard park, two artificial sports fields, walking trails, cricket pitch, picnic areas, and a leash-free zone.
Malton Community Centre
Malton Community Centre features a double gymnasium, expanded fitness area, and completely redesigned change rooms with adjacent steam rooms. It also has an outdoor splash pad, playground, and basketball play pad.
Meadowvale Community Centre
The Meadowvale Community Centre and Library is located in northwest Mississauga. It is a large facility that overlooks Lake Aquitaine and the surrounding parklands.
It features a fitness centre with cardio and conditioning equipment, exercise classes including Zumba, Pilates, and yoga, plus squash courts and a double gymnasium.
There is also a 25-meter 6 lane indoor pool, and a heated therapeutic pool. Outdoors there is a full-sized basketball court and a covered pavilion.
Meadowvale 4 Rinks
Meadowvale 4 Rinks hosts a variety of programs including learn to skate classes, ice-hockey, public skating, and more. The arena has four 85 x 185-foot ice surfaces, 22 change rooms, three referee/instructor rooms, pro-shop, concession and lounge, and a meeting room.
Mississauga Valley Community Centre
The Mississauga Valley Community Centre is the city’s largest.
Located in the Mississauga Valley neighbourhood, it includes the fully-equipped Terry Fox Fitness Centre and the Terry Fox Pool and Therapy Pool. Other amenities include an ice arena, meeting rooms, and a gymnasium.
Paramount Fine Foods Centre
The Paramount Fine Foods Centre is the City’s premiere sports and entertainment facility. This space features four NHL ice pads, one of which boasts amenities including 5,400 spectator seats, private suites, lounges, concessions and other amenities to support large events and tournaments.
The facility boasts a wide range of amenities for avid sports and recreation enthusiasts.
In addition to the main event Arena, three attached ice surfaces are the home of hockey teams in all of the major Mississauga and Toronto associations.
Port Credit Memorial Arena
Port Credit Memorial Arena was founded in 1959, and is the oldest public ice arena in Mississauga.
The facility seats 690 and is an undersized 185’x85′ pad. The arena features one ice pad, a pro shop, and concessions. The barrel-vaulted wooden roof makes the structure unique in the city. The arena underwent significant renovations in 2009.
Port Credit Memorial Arena was recently listed as a Heritage Building under the Ontario Heritage Act.
River Grove Community Centre
River Grove Community Centre features cardio and weight training equipment including weight machines, treadmills, ellipticals, and rowing machines.
The centre also features three squash courts, a steam room, and a fitness studio for group exercise classes including Zumba, high and low impact, step, toning, circuit, and more.
River Grove has a 25-metre, 5-lane lap pool featuring a 2-storey water slide.
South Common Community Centre
Closed for renovations, expected to reopen by 2027.
Tomken Twin Arena
Tomken Twin Arena was originally founded in 1991, and recently underwent extensive renovations. It is located in the northeast corner of Mississauga, near Tomken Rd and Eastgate Pkwy.
It offers ice skating and hockey lessons.
Vic Johnston Community Centre
The Vic Johnston Community Centre is an independent facility, i.e. not run by the City of Mississauga. It is located in the heart of downtown Streetsville, and it offers hockey, skating, an outdoor pool, community events and meeting facilities.
The portability of membership plans from the city-run sites does not include this independently run location.
This community centre is run on a not-for-profit basis, and is home to the Streetsville Hockey League and the Streetsville Tigers.
Future Plans
Plans are underway for a new community centre at the current site of TL Kennedy Secondary School in Cooksville. The idea is to develop underutilized land at the school into a new community hub, and then redevelop the school itself.
Cooksville has been identified as a high growth area that needs a new facility.
