School and Nearby Amenities
St Francis Xavier Milton has fairly striking architecture. There is a double-height atrium in the centre of the complex, flanked by a three-storey academic wing on one side, and a two-storey sport and theatre complex on the other. Informal activity areas like the cafeteria, food school, and administration areas are also accessed through the atrium.
Music, performance, and arts programs are grouped together on the ground floor with multi-purpose rehearsal studios located adjacent to a fully-equipped, professional theatre.
The sports complex includes four gymnasiums on the ground floor, an elevated running track, and a competition-sized football and soccer field fitted with artificial turf.
The field is equipped with an inflatable dome that is deployed during the winter months.
The facility is called the Milton Indoor Turf Centre, and it is jointly managed by the Town of Milton and the Halton Catholic District School Board. It’s open for use by the general community during summer and after school hours during the rest of the year.
As for nearby commercial areas, there is a fairly large one right across the street at Louis St. Laurent Ave and Bronte St. S, that features dozens of stores, services, and restaurants. It’s about a 4 minute walk from the school.
