T.L. Kennedy Secondary School was originally founded in 1953, and has evolved over the years. Today the school has ratings that are slightly below average compared to many public high schools in Ontario. Nevertheless, TLK School offers a number of special academic programs.

T.L. Kennedy SS has a good assortment of specialty academic programs.
SHSM
TL Kennedy High School offers Specialist High Skills Majors in Business, and also in Information and Communications Technology.
RLCP
It is also a participant in the Regional Learning Choices Program, offering courses in Graphic Design Management, International and Executive Leadeship, and International Business and Technology.
Dual Credit

Although TLK School was founded nearly 70 years ago, it offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.
In addition, the school also features numerous drama and art rooms, video animation studios, music areas, a library, a large gymnasium, a large commercial kitchen, a fitness center, plus athletic fields and more than a dozen computer and robotics lab areas.

For recreation, TL Kennedy Secondary School has a large gymnasium, and a full assortment of track and field facilities.
The school is located in the heart of Mississauga, serving an area within the historic town of Cooksville, as well as a large swath of the City Centre/Square One area.
It is close to the commercial areas near Dundas St. W. and Hurontario St., and has easy access to both the 403 and QEW Highways. TLK is extremely close to the Cooksville GO Station, which is less than a 10 minute walk away.

T.L. Kennedy Secondary School has a broad catchment area that has Highway 403 marking its northern boundary, Dundas St. W. at the southern edge, with an irregular line that roughly follows Cawthra Rd along the eastern boundary, and another irregular line roughly following Mavis Rd. along the western edge.
Future Development
Plans are underway to redevelop the land where T.L. Kennedy Secondary School is situated. The goal is to incorporate a major community centre and a public library on the site, plus redevelop the high school at the same time.
While no official announcement has been made, local politicians have hinted that there is a strong likelihood that we will see major changes here over the next couple of years.
Conclusion
Although TL Kennedy Secondary School scores below average in the provincial rankings for all high schools in Ontario as shown by ranking results from the Fraser Institute, it does provide a wide array of specialty learning programs and extra-curricular activities that can enrich students in grades 9-12.
