Brampton Centennial (BCSS) was originally founded in 1967, and is noted for high levels of academic achievement and winning sports teams. Today the school is rated as a very good public high school.

Specialized Courses

Academically, BCSS has a long list of specialized courses and programs for students.

Dual Credit Program

Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time.

College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school.

Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.

STEAM

STEAM is a multidisciplinary grade 9 program integrating Science, Technology, English, Visual Arts and Math along with the study of Civics & Careers.

Students have the opportunity to earn up to 6 credits through this single semester program during their Grade 9 year.

SHSM

Once students reach Grade 11, they can also participate in two separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs: one for Information and Communications Technology, and one for Construction.

French Immersion

BCSS Brampton is a french immersion school. It offers a full French Immersion curriculum for grades 9-12, as well as classes in basic Core French.

ESL

Brampton Centennial SS provides extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs led by teachers with substantial experience working with students in ESL.

OYAP

The school is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.
