OSSD

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is the official high school diploma awarded to students who successfully complete the Ontario secondary school curriculum.

The OSSD is a globally recognized credential that signifies completion of secondary education in Ontario
and is often a requirement for university or college admission, as well as for certain career paths.

To earn the OSSD, students need to earn 30 credits, including 18 compulsory credits and 13 optional credits, complete the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), and complete 40 hours of community involvement.

Compulsory credits include courses in English, mathematics, science, Canadian history, Canadian geography, the arts, health and physical education, French as a second language, career studies, and civics.

Students can also choose from a wide range of subjects to fulfill these optional credit requirements, allowing for specialization in areas of interest.

The OSSD is widely recognized by universities, colleges, and employers both within Canada and internationally.

The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is important for those who want to pursue post-secondary education, apprenticeships, or enter the workforce.
