OYAP is the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program. It is a provincial school-to-work transition program offered through Ontario secondary schools.
It creates opportunities for students to learn a skilled trade while attending regular secondary school classes at the same time.
Students have the opportunity to become registered apprentices and work towards becoming certified journeypersons in a skilled trade while completing the requirements to obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (“OSSD”).
There are over 100 skilled trades that are covered by the program.
