1.) Go on a Walking Tour
Guided walking tours of Streetsville happen once a month, from mid-June through to the end of October. These historic walking tours are one of the most popular things to do in Streetsville, and they are free.
Streetsville has the highest concentration of historic buildings in Mississauga. The walking tours will give you an intimate experience with the area’s landmarks and you will hear the story behind the buildings from area experts and local historians. The tours go into considerable detail on how this quaint village gradually transformed itself from part of the vast wilderness that was southern Ontario in the early 1800’s, to a bustling industrial mill town, into the popular and distinctive tourist area that it is today.
These popular walking tours educate the participants in a way that introduces them to the real history of the town, bringing into focus the considerable richness of the area’s history.

Some of the landmarks that the tours cover include: Montreal House, Timothy Street House, Abigail Street House, The Franklin House, Streetsville United Church, Streetsville Memorial Cemetery and the Streetsville Cenotaph.
The Historical Walking Tours run for about three hours in length, but participants are able to come and go as the tour progresses. Tour participants are encouraged to ask as many questions as they want during the tour.
2.) Bread & Honey Festival
Streetsville’s best known event is probably the Bread & Honey Festival, a three day event that is held annually on the first weekend in June. This festival has been a popular attraction since its inception in 1973.
The Bread & Honey Festival is located along Church St., and has been one of the must-visit Mississauga events in recent years. This three-day festival features a talented line-up of live performers as well as carnival rides, games, and much more. There is a small entrance fee for each day’s events.
The 2019 festival featured a variety of live performances, including a country music theme night, with live performances from Canadian country music artists.
The Bread & Honey festival also includes a parade, one of the higher profile Streetsville events of the summer.
Throughout the weekend, there are live musical performances of all genres of contemporary music. There is also a pancake breakfast, hosted by the Rotary club.
The Bread & Honey Festival originated from a time when there were flour mills in the area, and honey was seen as a natural compliment to the bread they produced. Today, the festival is a celebration of community life, and is definitely a contender for one of the most fun things to do in Streetsville.
3.) Taste of Streetsville Celebration
The Taste of Streetsville is an annual event that is organized by the Streetsville BIA, and it provides special pricing at local area restaurants, where the funds received are donated to local Mississauga hospitals. Every year the Santa Claus Parade is an event that is eagerly awaited by children of all ages! Each year Santa comes to Streetsville, bringing his reindeer, and many other floats and marching bands. In 2019 the parade is taking place on November 24th.
5.) Events at the Village Square
Village Square is a plaza centrally located at the main intersection of Bristol Road and Queen St. S. The prominent location at the square, plus its wide expanse complete with a distinctive obelisk, provides an excellent facility as a town square and a gathering place for the community. Events take place at the square on a year round basis.
6.) Memorial Park
Streetsville Memorial Park is conveniently located near the downtown business area. The park provides a quiet, restful break from modern day life. The Credit River runs through it, and you will see people fishing here no matter what time of year it is.
