There are currently over 1150 students registered at this large and centrally located facility. This Oakville high school serves a wide catchment area including the Oakville neighborhoods of Bronte and Old Oakville.

Blakelock High School was originally founded in 1957, and it is considered one of the better performing public high schools in Ontario.

Special Courses

The school offers a wide assortment of academic and arts courses for students, and is renowned for its music department. Students can access a variety of specialized programs with a focus on music and drama, and it should be noted that students from this school have performed in competition at notable venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York.

I-STEM

I-STEM is a regional program for students in grades 9-12. Students develop skills related to engineeri​ng design and design thinking, entrepreneurial thinking skills and global competencies. For recreation, students can access a large gymnasium, and a  full assortment of athletic facilities. The school is situated in an older area of south central Oakville, near Rebecca Street and Fourth Line.

T.A. Blakelock  boundaries extend from the Queen Elizabeth Highway (QEW) in the north, to the shores of Lake Ontario in the south, from Burloak Drive in the west, to roughly Trafalgar Road in the east. Note there is a larger boundary catchment area for French immersion students, than for traditional English instruction, as well as some temporary boundaries in the growing north sector of Oakville.
