St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School is a highly rated Catholic high school situated in northwest Mississauga, offering schooling for grades 9-12.

There are currently approximately 1900 students registered at this uniquely located facility, which is a member of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. As with most Catholic high schools, students here are required to wear uniforms while attending classes.

St Aloysius school was founded in 2001, and it is considered one of the better high schools in Peel Region.

Specialized Courses

The school offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students, including both Core and Extended French programs.

A wide variety of enrichment programs are offered, such as Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs for Business, and for Environmental Studies.

The school also offers an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.

Finally, Aloysius Gonzaga is also a participant in the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) program.

Facilities

As a recently built school, St. Aloysius Gonzaga offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.

Gonzaga is part of Erin Meadows Community Centre.

When the school was built, it was in partnership with the City of Mississauga, and the Mississauga Library System.

The complex includes a substantial library and a community centre complete with swimming pool. Students are able to access the community library and can use the community centre facilities as part of their program.

The school itself also features numerous drama and art rooms, various areas for its music department, a large gymnasium, a fitness centre, a TV studio and editing room, an auto centre, construction department, greenhouse, dance studios, a stage and theatre, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
