Glenforest Secondary School is a well established public high school located at the eastern tip of Mississauga. The school offers classroom education for grades 9-12.
There are currently nearly 1100 students registered at this large and storied facility.
Glenforest Secondary was originally founded in 1969, and has expanded over time. Today the school is rated one of the better public high schools in Ontario.
Glenforest offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students.
The school offers a Dual Credits program, where high-achieving students are able to earn college level credits while still in high school.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Glenforest high school is a participant in the Ontario Regional Learning Choices Programs (RLCP), and through that framework is an accredited school within the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The IB is a worldwide organization that offers advanced learning for participating students.
Although Extended French and French Immersion are not offered at this school, students are able to attend Core French classes.

Although Glenforest high school was founded over 50 years ago, it offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.
Recent additions include a new library, new science labs, as well as numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, two large gymnasiums, a weight room, a fitness center, access to the Glenforest public swimming pool next door, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
Glenforest is renowned for its sports teams, and offers a wide assortment of athletic opportunities for students, including:

For recreation, Glenforest Secondary School has two large gymnasiums, and a full assortment of track and field facilities.
GFSS is also physically connected to the Glenforest public swimming pool, a 25 metre, 6 lane indoor pool.
The school is located on the eastern edge of Mississauga, and as a result, offers close access to the busy commercial areas along Dundas St., and Dixie Road, as well as the Etobicoke area of Toronto.
Parents and students also have easy access to the 427 Highway, and Pearson International Airport is only a short distance away.
