Brampton Centennial Secondary School is a legacy public high school located in Brampton, Ontario. It offers classroom education for grades 9-12, and is a member of the Peel District School Board.

Brampton Centennial (BCSS) was originally founded in 1967, and is noted for high levels of academic achievement and winning sports teams. Today the school is rated as a very good public high school.

Specialized Courses

Academically, BCSS has a long list of specialized courses and programs for students.

Dual Credit Program

Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time.

College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school.

Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.


STEAM is a multidisciplinary grade 9 program integrating Science, Technology, English, Visual Arts and Math along with the study of Civics & Careers.

Students have the opportunity to earn up to 6 credits through this single semester program during their Grade 9 year.


Once students reach Grade 11, they can also participate in two separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs: one for Information and Communications Technology, and one for Construction.

French Immersion

BCSS is a french immersion school. It offers a full French Immersion curriculum for grades 9-12, as well as classes in basic Core French.


Brampton Centennial provides extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs led by teachers with substantial experience working with students in ESL.


The school is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.

Brampton Centennial Secondary School has had numerous expansions and upgrades over the years, and parents can be confident today that, even though this is an older school, BCSS provides a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.

In addition, the school also features numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, a library, a large gymnasium, a fitness center, a construction workshop, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.

Brampton Centennial boundaries cover a large catchment area of south Brampton, extending from Highway 407 in the south, to Queen St. W. in the north, with an irregular line west of Chinguacousy Rd. on its western edge. and Main St. S. marking its eastern boundary.
