Although Mayfield.SS was founded over 50 years ago, it offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work areas for students.
In addition, the Mayfield Secondary School also features numerous drama and art rooms, a 950-seat professional theatre and auditorium, video animation studios, numerous music areas, a library, two large gymnasiums, tech rooms, a fitness centre, plus athletic fields and more than a dozen computer and robotics lab areas.
The theatre is professional grade. It includes several studios and an auditorium that has a capacity of 950 people. The events that usually take place here are the program’s theatre productions, musical and dance events.

For recreation and athletics, Mayfield Secondary School has two large gymnasiums, and a full assortment of track and field facilities.
The school is located at the extreme northern tip of Brampton, on the Caledon side of Mayfield Road.
Mayfield.SS is next door to the Mayfield Recreation Complex. Here you will find a 25 metre, 6 lane swimming pool with diving board, an ice arena, and tennis courts. The entrance to the complex is located on Bramalea Road just a few feet from the school.
The school is also directly across the street from a substantial Smart Centre shopping mall that includes a Walmart Supercentre store.
The school has easy access to both Mayfield Road, and the 410 Highway.
