Jean Augustine Secondary (JASS) is one of the newest high schools in Brampton. It was officially opened in 2016. It is noted for its robust course offerings, and for its competitive athletic teams.
Today the school is rated as an up-and-coming public high school, and it offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students.

Dual Credit Program
Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time.
College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school. Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.
SHSM
JASS has not yet participated in the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program, but is expected to do so in the near future.

As with most high schools that are newer builds, Jean Augustine high school offers a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.

Jean Augustine Secondary School Ranking
This public high school was only open for three years when last measured by the Fraser Institute. It scored 5.0 out of a possible 10, and the school is tied for 556th place out of 739 high schools in the province of Ontario. Compare school rankings. New rankings for 2023 are expected to be released soon, and I expect to see an increase in Jean Augustine’s score.
School and Nearby Amenities
For recreation, Jean Augustine Secondary School has a large gymnasium, a football field, and top-of-the-line track and field facilities.
The school is next door to Andrew McCandless Park, which is a popular community park. It features a children’s playground with splash pad, a soccer field, a cricket pitch, and outdoor basketball courts.
JASS shares their school facility with the Al Qalam Academy. Al Qalam is a not-for-profit organization offering courses in Islamic Studies, Arabic Grammar, and Tafsir to members of the Muslim Community in Canada.
There are several commercial plazas near the school along Mississauga Road and Bovaird Drive W. The famous Apple Factory Market and bake shop is located directly across the street.
