Who was Harold M. Brathwaite?
Harold M. Brathwaite (1940 – 2020) was a Barbadian-Canadian educator and school administrator. After attending university in the West Indies, France, and Canada, Brathwaite taught and was an administrator at the Halton Region and Toronto District school boards, before becoming Director of Education with the Peel District School Board.
Brathwaite was noted for his many contributions in the cause of racial harmony in Canada, and for his legacy of developing and guiding initiatives to assist at-risk youth in the black community.
He is a recipient of the Order of Ontario.

Harold M. Brathwaite is a fully accredited member of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program.

Dual Credit Program
Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time. College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school.
Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.
Explore High Skills
Explore High Skills (EHS) is a Peel District School Board pathway program for grade 9 and 10 students that is a precursor to the SHSM program. Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary offers EHS programs for Business, and for Justice, Community Safety and Emergency Services.
