There are currently over 1880 students registered at this large and growing facility.

Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary (FMSS) was originally founded in 2005. It is noted for its special focus on mathematics, and its high level of computer technology.

Today the school is rated as an excellent public high school, and it offers a wide assortment of academic courses for students.

Specialized Courses

Academically, FMSS has a long list of specialized courses and programs.

Dual Credit Program

Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time.

College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school. Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.

SHSM

Once students reach Grade 11, they can also participate in three separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs: one for Construction, one for Information and Communication Technology, and one for Health and Wellness.

French Language

Although there is no French Immersion offered at this high school, students can find French language instruction in Core French.

ESL

Fletcher’s Meadow provides extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs led by teachers with substantial experience working with students in ESL.

OYAP

The school is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.

School and Nearby Amenities

For recreation, Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School has a large gymnasium, and a  full assortment of track and field facilities.

Parkholme School

Fletcher’s Meadow shares a facility with the Parkholme School, which is a specialized school for children with developmental disabilities. There are about 80 students registered at Parkholme School.

Cassie Campbell Community Centre

FMSS is next door to the Cassie Campbell Community Centre, which is the largest community centre in Brampton. It features 2 swimming pools, 2 ice rinks, a fitness centre, gymnasium, running/walking track, meeting rooms, basketball courts, tennis courts, a BMX/skate park, cricket pitch, dance studio and snack bar. It’s a 7 minute walk from the school to the community centre.

There are commercial plazas near the school along Chinguacousy Road, including a Starbucks directly scross the street.

Fletcher’s Meadow boundaries cover a large catchment area extending from approximately Bovaird Drive W. in the south, to Mayfield Road in the north, with Mississauga Road on its western edge. and Mclaughlin Road marking its eastern boundary.
