Central Peel Secondary School is a legacy public high school located in Brampton, Ontario. It offers classroom education for grades 9-12, and is a member of the Peel District School Board.

Central Peel (CPSS) was originally founded in 1960, and is noted both for high levels of academic achievement, a focus on the arts, and winning sports teams.
Specialized Courses
Academically, CPSS has a long list of specialized courses and programs for students.
Advanced Placement
The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a university readiness, global program intended for highly motivated, academically-oriented students whose study of the Ontario curriculum is enriched as they prepare for senior level AP courses.
Students taking AP courses have the opportunity to learn first year university material while being in high school.
Dual Credit Program
Dual Credit programs provide grade 11 and 12 students with an opportunity to earn both college and non-compulsory secondary credits at the same time.
College credits earned may be applied to a college program after high school.
Students can choose from more than 50 courses at colleges such as Centennial, George Brown, Humber, Seneca and Sheridan.
Strings
Central Peel Secondary School has a strong focus on the arts, with extensive courses in drama, music, dance, and visual arts.
In addition, it offers the Peel Regional Strings program which provides students in grades 9-12 with the opportunity to study one of four stringed instruments – violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Students at all levels of skill are able to collaborate with other participants.
Central Peel is one of only two high schools in Peel Region to offer this program (the other being Port Credit Secondary School in Mississauga).
SHSM
Once students reach Grade 11, they can also participate in two separate Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs: one for Business, and one for Sports.
French Immersion
CPSS does not offer French Immersion classroom instruction, but it does offer classes in basic Core French.
ESL
Central Peel provides extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs led by teachers with substantial experience working with students in ESL.
OYAP
The school is also a participant in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for skilled trades.

School Facilities
Central Peel Secondary School has had numerous expansions and upgrades over the years, and parents can be confident that today, even though this is an older school, CPSS provides a good assortment of modern classrooms and work spaces for students.
In addition, the school also features numerous drama and art rooms, music areas, a library, a large gymnasium, a fitness centre with weight room, plus athletic fields and computer study areas.
In 2023 CPSS opened a major new athletic facility: the Central Peel Innovative Centre and Sports Field.
It includes a full-size outdoor synthetic turf sports field for football and soccer, an 8-lane rubberized running track, spectator seating, plus ancillary track activities including long jump, high jump and throwing, state of the art LED sports field lighting, and a practice area for cricket.
The project was a collaboration between the City of Brampton and the Peel District School Board. It also includes three outdoor basketball courts, and a standalone “Innovation Centre” building. The new facility will be used by the school from Monday to Friday, and will be open to the public on weekends. See video below:
